When I was just 16 I remember going to Florida with my sister-in-law and her mother. It was a long car trip from Indiana to Florida and I remember my sister-in-law feeling sick to her stomach. Her mother told her to put on some lipstick and it might make her feel better. It sounds funny, but in some small way I believe there to be some truth behind the idea. Many things can give us an upset stomach, the kind where you aren’t going to throw up, just that nagging feeling that you are not right. Emotional and/or physical problems can make us feel sick. How Do You Even Want to Want to?
That is the question I keep asking myself. The computer age passed me by. When I was attending Purdue University in the early 70’s no one had a personal computer. I had the first digital clock on our floor in the dorm. At that time, it was advanced technology. I remember someone calling out “what time is it,” and I replied 11:23. Their remark was, “who’s the smart ass.” No one ever said the exact time. It was either a quarter after 11 or 11:30. Everyone came running to my room to see this amazing new clock that I had.
